Short answer

How to accept payment in a form

Payment comes after the form is filled in: the client confirms the amount and pays, and you get the request and the payment. That is how prepayment, an order, and a service are paid. You need the Payment terminal module and your payment system. It sets the fees, not FormDesigner.

How it works

How it looks for the client

  1. The person fills the form

Questions, the amount and the payment method live in one published form, not on a third-party page.

  2. Pays in the same form

The Payment terminal module takes a fixed amount, an amount from a calculation field, or products.

  3. You get the submission and the status

Email and SMS can go to the admin and the client. Other modules can run on the Paid status.

What it can do

What the terminal can do

01

Fixed amount

One amount for the whole form. Fits a prepayment, a fee or a ticket.

02

Amount from a field

A dynamic price is taken from a calculation field. The form computes the amount; the terminal sends it to the selected payment system.

03

Products

Product fields can be linked to the terminal as a list, if those fields are already in the form.

04

Notifications

Email and SMS to the admin and the respondent: subject, template or text. Each channel is enabled separately.

05

Rules

After payment, other modules can run on Paid or Not paid status.

06

Currency

The amount is charged in the currency selected on the terminal. US dollars are the default.

CLEAR ANSWERS

FAQ

Which payment systems are available?
The module includes PayPal and Stripe. The full list is in the Payment systems tab after you connect the module.
How much does in-form payment cost?
FormDesigner prices are on the plans. Fees of the selected payment system are set by that system, not FormDesigner: check them with the payment service.
Is the amount only fixed?
No. You can set a fixed amount or take the amount from a calculation field. If the form has product fields, they can be linked to the terminal as a list.
Is payment a separate service?
No. The Payment terminal module takes payment in the same form. The person does not leave for a separate submission page.
Which notifications can I send?
Email and SMS to the admin and the respondent: subject, template or text. Channels are turned on separately.
Can logic run after payment?
Yes. In other modules’ logic, a connected terminal adds a Payment module status condition: Paid or Not paid. Logic and branching.
